Our Story
How did we
get here?
Katherine began her career as a litigation attorney at a boutique law firm specializing in intellectual property, aviation, environmental insurance coverage, and engineering defense law. She then accepted a position also in New York City as in-house counsel for a global insurer in its environmental coverage legal department.
She was offered a promotion by the carrier but there was a catch: the new position, large loss legal specialist, was based in Fort Lauderdale, Florida (on the beach!). After her skeptical interview on a very wintery February in New York City, Katherine accepted the position.
Katherine then passed the Florida Bar exam and became a shareholder at a prestigious Miami-based law firm. Because of her background in environmental law, engineering defect, and insurance coverage, she started a practice group in construction defect, which led to an offer to join an international construction company as Assistant General Counsel.
Her last position prior to opening the McNeal Law Group was as Assistant Vice President of Construction Claims at one of the largest insurance companies in the world.

Katherine, raised in Los Angeles, California, now lives in Brooklyn and the Hudson Valley, New York, with her husband and three adorable pets.
